I Hate Peanut Butter

Okay, I really don't hate it but it has just caused a major inconvenience in my life. How can peanut butter do such a thing, one may ask. Well, if your child has an allergy - that's how. Yes. Isaac is allergic to peanut butter. Last night, I let him try it for the first time. Thankfully, I gave him a very small amount. I noticed a couple red spots around his mouth but they quickly disappeared. Later that evening I found it odd that Isaac woke up a few times after being laid down for the night. That is definitely out of the ordinary for him.
It wasn't until half way through breakfast that I noticed his neck was very red. After breakfast I peeked at his back and low and behold my son had a pretty bad rash all over his little body. The good thing was he seemed himself...no fussies or sick eyes or fever. I took him to the doctors office and they confirmed my suspicions of the allergic reaction to peanut butter. What does that mean for me? A few years of making sure my son does not consume anything containing peanuts. My fellow mothers will be able to sympathize with me. Things could have been worse so I will count my blessings but boy am I disappointed. PB&J would have been such a nice and quick lunch for Isaac. Oh Well!!
