"Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him." (quoted by Heath's father)
This quote really hit me. How many of us can relate this to our relationship with Jesus Christ? Jesus has touched us in so many ways yet we can still go through this life without truly knowing Him. How many of us go from day to day claiming that we know Christ when we really just know of Him. We don't spend time with Him everyday...we don't know His likes and dislikes or His character. We don't hope to please Him or to be like Him. Is that you? It may not be you in every area but I challenge you to take a step back and see what it is in your life that is keeping you from truly knowing Christ. I want to know Him so well that I have an on-going conversation with Him...not like I'm talking to a distant relative that I only see once every two or three years. I want to be so close to Christ that His character rubs off on me...that He shines through me. When I die and meet Christ face-to-face He can say one of two things to me..."Depart from me for I never knew you." or "Oh, Elaina! I'm so glad you made it my good and faithful servant." I think I rather hear the latter. What about you? That quote really challenged me and I hope it does the same for you. Ask yourself...Do I truly know Christ?
